Metalagram
The Birth of Metalagram - A Journey of Art, Science, and Aluminum
The journey began in 2010, as the artist duo started to experiment with using aluminum to express their emotions, energy, and vision. Along the way, they encountered numerous failures and made important discoveries. One of their key realizations was that the use of tools and processes on aluminum could create three-dimensional sculptures. They also learned that combining sculptural metalwork with their imagery resulted in unique artworks. As they continued their exploration, they concluded that aluminum was the perfect medium for conveying their message.
Thus, Metalagram was born, a name combining "metal" and "hologram." Through crowdsourcing, the duo found that synergy emerged, where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. They also discovered that when lighting and sound were added to Metalagram works, they transformed into a complete Metalagram Experience.
Lighting was found to unveil the sculptural layers of Metalagram, while colored lighting brought out the artistic layers, similar to a prism. The interaction of light with the artwork, as well as the engagement of viewers, created reflective and refractive effects based on the angles of incidence.
Metalagram found the duo as much as they discovered the process. It is a combination of art and science, connecting with viewers and the world, promoting diverse perspectives, and serving as a tool for unlocking potential in this journey called life.
