501c3 Developing Potential Through Art
The artists embrace art collaboration to harness the synergy of working together with others and creating for public spaces. Linda and Teddy Schinkel created a 501c3 charity, Conceptions Connect in 2019. The founders have experienced first-hand empowerment derived from collaboratively creating and installing their work in public spaces. Inspiring belief in one’s greatest potential and promoting the commensurate mindset underlies this charitable work.
One such collaborative artwork "Universal Alliance", created with Kids Kicking Cancer, has been permanently installed at the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, MI since 2014. Another collaborative work "Renaissance City", created at Detroit Central High School with Beyond Basics students has been in Mayor Michael Duggan's Office lobby since 2015. Additional charitable projects are numerous include with Detroit Public High School students at Cranbrook Horizons Upward Bound in 2023. Explore how creating collaboratively with the artists in educational or public institutions or work made for public spaces will invigorate and transform the lives of participants and viewers. Reach out to us today for how you can participate with this charity work.
Conceptions Connect is committed to enriching educational environments by integrating the 'A' for art thereby transforming STEM into STEAM curricula. "Your Brain on Art" by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross offers proof for how our brains and bodies are transformed when we participate in the arts. Building stronger communities and enhancing core competencies to boost academic performance, agency and problem-solving capabilities are achievable from the work of Conceptions Connect.
The technical + creative lens used by the artists spills over into the participants and viewers. While teaching at the Cranbrook Horizons Upward Bound program summer 2023, student Aniya Young, who plans to major in Civil Engineering, said the course was a perfect way to learn to apply both her creative and technical sides into one project; and expects it to be useful in her career. Upon viewing the work at the unveiling, another student Gary Mccree decided to name his art piece “Amethyst”. “The final results surprised me,” he said. “It looks amazing out here – we made this.”

We Purchased an artwork at the Downtown Disney Festival. We find their art to be fresh, eye-catching, innovative, and, most especially, a pleasure to behold. We highly recommend them for your perusal and purchase.
